The basis of our technologies

At any one time around 99% of DNA in a cell is tightly packaged into a highly complex structure called chromatin and cannot be read. The remaining 1% is unpackaged and open to be read by the cell machinery. Our two proprietary technology platforms exploit this epigenomic structure:

HyperGenomics is a high-throughput, highly parallel and highly sensitive technology which detects the unpackaged (open) areas of the DNA. It has many potential applications, particularly in diagnostics and stem cell profiling.

GeneICE is a gene-silencing technology which works by repackaging specific open areas DNA, resulting in deactivation of the genes present on them.

Unlike "first generation" post-genomic technologies, HyperGenomics and GeneICE are revolutionary because they may be used to detect and deactivate genes before they are expressed. As such they represent an exciting step forward in the diagnosis and treatment of diseases such as cancer.

HyperGenomics and GeneICE are complementary but independent business areas based on our core patent portfolio. They are highly synergistic whilst concomitantly creating value and revenues in an independent manner. This model creates critical commercial mass whilst reducing the technology risk considerably. The Company is managed by an experienced team and the business model is a combination of revenue generation with value creation.

The Company's pre-clinical programmes are carried out by one of the UK's leading clinical oncology centres. We will create maximum value for shareholders by building a portfolio of products in oncology, whilst seeking to license out the technologies and potential future lead compounds.
